Andrew Platte

Andrew has spent his legal career as a Plaintiff’s lawyer handling complex litigation matters. He has over 15 years of experience after clerking for the Honorable Diane Goodstein in the Circuit Court of South Carolina where he worked on all aspects of trial practice. He has been involved in navigating class actions from inception to class certification to judgment and appeals in both state and federal courts. His experience in complex litigation has involved litigating concurrent state and federal cases in South Carolina as well as other states and federal districts. He was involved in convincing the Fourth Circuit Court of Appels to reverse the approval of a federal settlement class that would ultimately lead to a finding of liability in state court against the defendant. That finding of liability lead to a mediated bankruptcy settlement that resulted in a significant increase in the return of paid in capital to farmers from the mid-Atlantic area than they would have received under the federal settlement.

Andrew is active with the James L. Petigru American Inns of Court and he serves as a leader for his local scout unit. He enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons and exploring the outdoors.
